EZ-Etitle Frequently Asked Questions

Electronic titling, registration, plating, integrations, pricing, and dealership workflow questions for Demos of the EZ E-TITLE platform.

Electronic Titling Workflow

Electronic Titling Workflow

Common questions about scanning paperwork, county processing, paper titles, rejected titles, and dealership title clerk workflows.

Dealers scan the same paperwork they would normally take directly to the county title office. This typically includes the 3772 or 3774 application form, the MCO or Certificate of Title, and any required personalized plate release form from a lease company or lender when transferring personalized plates. Once scanned, the documents are electronically transmitted through EZ-Etitle instead of being driven to the county.
After the title is scanned, the dealership should place the original document into the deal jacket and file it according to the dealership’s normal recordkeeping process.
Turnaround time depends on the county and current workload. In many cases, processing can happen within a few minutes, but it may take a couple of hours depending on volume and county availability.
Yes, if your current county offers electronic titling and ACH services. If your current county does not support the needed electronic workflow, EZ-Etitle can route the transaction to another participating county.
Yes. The county title fee is the same fee charged by the county office. The fee is displayed on the daily report, and the clearing house pulls the fee and pays the county through ACH.
If a paper title is needed after the deal is complete, the dealership can pick it up from the county office. The title fee has already been paid through ACH when the transaction was processed through EZ-Etitle.
When a title is rejected, the title office provides the rejection reason on the rejected title. EZ-Etitle gives the dealership clearer visibility into the issue so the title team can correct the problem and continue the workflow without relying on scattered paperwork or manual follow-up.
All required signatures must be present on the title and the 3772 or 3774. If required signatures are missing, the title can be rejected.
No. The dealership must wait until the trade is paid off and the lender releases the title.

Registration, Plates, and Fees

Registration, Plates, and Fees

Questions about registration and plating workflows, state fees, customer fee estimates, and the Ohio Registration and Titling Service Fee.

EZ-Etitle’s registration and plating workflow is processed by the EZ-Etitle team. This helps ensure registration, transfers, and plating are completed quickly and accurately.
Registration, transfer, and plating fees depend on the vehicle type, customer date of birth, customer address, plate expiration timing, and other state or local factors. The state and county fees are the same fees dealers are already paying across Ohio.
Many dealers charge a flat estimated amount, often between $100 and $200, and refund the difference back to the customer after the final fees are calculated.
The fee may apply when a dealership performs qualifying registration or titling services and the fee is properly disclosed and handled. EZ-Etitle is a paid third-party electronic workflow that supports electronic titling, registration, plating, documentation, reporting, and support in one connected process. Each dealership should confirm how the rule applies to its specific transactions.
Yes, when the transaction qualifies and the dealership uses a third-party electronic titling service such as EZ-Etitle. The fee should be properly disclosed and handled according to the applicable rule.
Keep the explanation straightforward. The fee helps cover the electronic processing, technology, compliance work, documentation, and support involved in completing title and registration work accurately and efficiently. The dealership is providing a more organized process that helps reduce delays, keeps paperwork cleaner, and supports the customer after the sale.

EZ Interstate

EZ Interstate

Current questions about out-of-state titling, registration, plates, and interstate transaction pricing.

EZ-Etitle is rolling out EZ Interstate for out-of-state titling. Phase 1 is live, and Phase 2 testing is underway for future deployment in the EZ-Etitle platform.
EZ Interstate pricing is $150 for title, registration, and plate work, plus state title, registration, and additional fees. Title-only or registration-only transactions are $100, plus state title, registration, and additional fees.

DMS, Scanners, and Reporting

DMS Integrations, Scanners, and Reporting

Technical and operational questions about DMS imports, scanner compatibility, and dealership reporting.

Yes. EZ-Etitle integrates with multiple DMS systems. Current examples include CDK, Tekion, Reynolds & Reynolds, Lightspeed, Dealer Built LightYear, PBS, Dealertrack FTP, Automate, Select Q Classic, Motive Autosoft, and Authenticom/DealerVault. If a dealership’s DMS is not listed, the EZ-Etitle team can review it and follow up.
When a DMS does not offer a clean API connection, EZ-Etitle can support the workflow through a daily report and import process. The dealership exports deal information from the DMS, and that report is used to bring the data into EZ-Etitle. It is not a live integration, but it reduces manual rekeying and gives the title team a cleaner workflow.
Yes. EZ-Etitle can provide a high-speed duplex scanner for dealerships using the platform.
Most TWAIN-compatible scanners work with the Dynamsoft service software used in the workflow. Some scanners may require testing. If a dealership’s scanner is not supported or does not work as expected, EZ-Etitle can provide a scanner.
Yes. EZ-Etitle can help customize reporting, and the team provides training to help dealerships use the reports effectively.

Pricing and Enrollment

Pricing and Enrollment

Questions about pricing structure, onboarding timing, and dealership account changes.

Pricing varies by transaction type, dealership volume, and services used. EZ-Etitle is usage-based, so dealers are billed according to what is actually processed. During a demo, the team can walk through pricing for retail titles, resale and trade titles, duplicates, replacements, registration transfers, and EZ Interstate.
Enrollment generally takes 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the signature process, DMS setup, and state turnaround times.
If a dealership changes its permit number or name, the enrollment signature process generally needs to be restarted so the account and authorization details are updated properly.
